I finally had enough with the not being able to sleep with the mouth-of-pain, so I broke down and got some real painkillers. Felt like a total criminal malcontent when the pharmacist questioned me endlessly, which is his job and everything but damnit I was only getting 15 pills for crying out loud. Soonest i'll be able to deal with the tooths is Monday, and that seems a lifetime when your whole head is throbbing. THROB, THROB.
Today we drove around a lot! It was all balmy and sunshiney and perfect weather for cruising around. Seattle is vast and confounding, but we managed to find our way. Wound up going to Kinokuniya and the Japanese supermarket for some tiny beers, a Korean phrasebook and a little pig mechanical pencil. They were completely out of Kissmint. Muh? Also: Best Teriyaki EVER for lunch.
Went to Ballard to rock the fuck out at Archie McPhee's, oh lord, did we rock. I think I have to go back for more rubber bracelets and meat air fresheners. After that excitement we wound up finding my friend Jessica's totally awesome chai house where I enjoyed a Ruby Tuesday on the Rocks and a game of infuriating Scrabble. Best word I managed? "Triads". Failed to get "Diaspora" or "Wiccan" despite my best efforts. Mr. Spots Chai House smells fantastic and reminded me of Santa Cruz. Awwww. Nice pierced tattooey incensesmokesmelling yogadoing lovely people.
Exploring is fun! More exploration over the next few days, but I don't think we're going to make it to Victoria since the Ferry is miiighty pricey. Goddamnit. I don't mind, I'm having a good time, just taking a break and seeing different sights. It's got my mind off of serious stuff.
Oh and I checked my voicemail earlier and I had multiple messages from the Caltrain guy... eek. None from the marvelous marvy boy, but then, he knows i'm out of town so, you know. I'm still pretty crushed out. Swoon.
