I decided to start doing my goofy kommute journal again. And I decided to re-start it on my mom's birthday, because it seemed logical to do it that way.

It was a nice day today, sunny and windy and bright. I thought that Joel was upset and that we were stubbornly not talking to each other, but then he called up and told me to get ready because we were going to Toys R Us. I got some really cool Lego mini-sets and a PS2. I guess that we are made up. We ate sandwiches and came back to my place to play games for several hours. We're such nerds.

My camera is possessed.
the Stanford University radio telescope (known as the DISH) from Highway 280

someone even made a painting of the radio telescope. odd.

Yours is possessed, this guy's is magic. I need to get me one of these supernatural cameras.

You're the second person to mention the magic camera! Maybe it's a sign that I should mess around with the camera more to try to exaggerate the defects! I love cheap, wonky cameras which wind up infusing images with a sort of unintentional spark of some sort.

It's sort of like pixelvision, no?

Yeah only not so pixelated and the white balance is totally skewed. I might be able to get it fixed, but in the meantime, I have my very pixelvision-esque eyemodule to depend on. I also have one of those clunky Casio wristcamera watch things. I could bust that puppy out and be like Harriet the Voyeuristic Spy!

Groovy! I'll put that back in my daily bookmarks.

And I always loved that DISH... the next best thing to SLAC and easier to notice from the road.

I always get excited when I see the linear accelerator. Must be a phallic thing.

HEH I loved kommute.com ... I just clicked through and saw a bunch of the shots. Makes me miss commuting somewhat. You are guarenteed good people observations :)

Yeah! When you commute you're forced to interact with a lot of people you might not otherwise run in to, and you get a really accurate sense of what a city is really like. People can be really unselfconscious on buses and trains, daydreaming, bored and thoughtful.

It's where I do my best ear and nose picking.

That's always good, especially when there are cameras around. Pick a good one!

I love the MBTA because it is ineluctably funky. Somebody vomited on me once during the morning commute, but usually it's more amusing than that. I prefer the T during commute times over other times, because there are fewer tourists (getting lost, in the way) and small children and general annoying chatter.

I always wonder what fellow commuters are thinking of me. Hey I am self-absorbed, what can I say :)

YEEHAW for Kommute returning.

And having a possessed Camera doesn't seem all that bad.

It's not a good thing. The lens won't always open up, which prevents any photography from happening. Noooo!
