yay, me

Yeah, well, unsurprisingly, i'm not going to England next week. My bank declined the purchase even though my limit was recently increased and the purchase appeared to have gone through. I guess that this is one of the perils of not having a credit card, and having a crappy bank. Now i'm trying to find a decent travel agent, which is not terribly intuitive. Grr.

I only wish that the guy on the phone from Virgin Atlantic hadn't been so rude.

i don't have a credit card either. [just a bank debit card.] :(

there's this crazy flux of people on my friends list, moving in and out of london as of late. it's kind of funny. [long story.]

were you going just for fun?

I wonder what the allure is, Londonwise...

The London trip was just for fun. I need to do something new and different to shake things up, and one of my best friends (and former housemate) moved to London not too long ago. International couch-surfing!

That's so suckerific. I'm sorry. You should report the airline guy to his superior! Yah. Maybe he works in an office where they care about such things. That's so yucky and wierd the way it didn't go through. Maybe some airline is having a special to England and you can still get tickets for a decent price? Maybe?

RE: The choad @ Virgin Atlantic:
He should have given you an explanation as to why the order was declined, and without his piss-poor attitude. Loser.

RE: Your bank:

RE: Travel agent:
Hopefully that'll work out for you! It's worth a shot. Not ever having used a travel agent, I'd be interested to hear what the experience is like; share if/when you go.

Re: Bah!
The Virgin Atlantic guy clearly explained the situation but he was rude and curt about it. More power to him, I guess. He didn't offer any options though, and wasn't terribly informative otherwise. The hysterical woman I spoke to yesterday was much more talkative.

Nations bank?

I used a travel agent when a former boyfriend and I were arranging a big 3-month Eurotrip and needed to get a round-trip flight which arrived in Glasgow and departed from Paris and we needed Eurail passes and the whole big deal, but I don't know, I guess I could try actually going in to the airport, Virgin has ticket counters there, ne?

Re: Bah! To! Nations Bank!
Nations Bank kinda-sorta-but-not-really owns big chunks of Bank of America (and a bunch of other bank chains, like Sunwest). They taint everything they touch. B fo A bankin' got a whole lot worse once they entered the picture.

It's all about credit unions.
