Gee, who'da thunk it

Job losses in state may be greater than feared - Confidential data hint recession had worse impact than reported
California's crime rates climb for second straight year - Thefts, homicides up in Bay Area

Come to Sunny California! Really, the only good local news is that The Musee Mechanique has been saved!! That's good news on or exceeding the greatness of the
Doggie Diner Head saga.

There's a lot of really dull paperwork I should be doing right now. I just can't seem to get motivated. More Coffee = More Motivation!

Yeah I was pretty concerned about the future of the Musee. It seems like a lot of great things are disappearing around SF, and it would be very sad indeed if the Musee Mechanique were to suffer that fate.

yeah it's exactly the kind of thing that could very easily fall through the cracks and be gone forever if no one noticed. Personally, it would be nice if they had a few more pins, especially from the electromech era (with the odometer wheels in the backglass), but with the limited space they have to deal with, it's very understandable.

Cool Things Disappearing
Today's SF Chronicle noted that the Roxie theater has been served an eviction notice for non-payment of rent. Coming soon, some crap chain store, I bet. Maybe someone cool will buy the theater and keep showing indie films.

Oh no, the Roxie!??

I've actually never gone there. I suck. I guess I should while I still have the chance.
