This month SFMOMA kicks off a groundbreaking retrospective of films by Werner Herzog as a complement to the exhibition Anselm Kiefer: Heaven and Earth and the harbinger of a renewed emphasis on film programming at the Museum. The retrospective features a series of screenings in November, December, and January that highlight Herzog's multifaceted oeuvre as well as his intellectual kinship with Kiefer, his countryman and peer. All screenings take place in the Phyllis Wattis Theater.
