I've dropped off of LJ radar but... you all know I love you, right?

Go Berkeley! I'm totally sure this will do the trick.

Today everything is about my preteen crush on Adam Ant, circa Kings Of The Wild Frontier/Prince Charming, before the Ants disbanded. I mean, seriously:

Ever see the video for "Strip"?

I forget if its Adam with the Ants, or just Adam.

Well, at least _somebody_ in government is saying impeach the motherfucker, too bad it will be just written of as "lefty Berkley at it again". :(

Oh man I loved Adam and the Ants.

I had 7 posters (2 signed), numerous versions of the same 3 albums (and several bootleg Peel sessions), a shitload of the various fan buttons that people wore back then, every Melody maker mag, and taped every MTV sunday concert and rock over london adam and the ants were on.

Drove my parents nuts with the stupid marching band jacket that looked somewhat like what adam wore. Of course the little fanboy that I was had to have the Antmusic logo on EVERYTHING. Peechee folders were grafittied with it, every txt book plain brown paper cover had a full color logo blasted on the front. Only went to one concert in 1981 in London when i was 13 (luckily my aunt who was 22 loved them as much as I did and we had fucking great seats because they put all the cripple attendants up close and ina special area...score). When I started wearing the makeup, It was really freakin out my parents and schoolmates. But it was the '80s and I wasn't depressed enough to be a stupid goth.

I really liked the post "people who became Bow Wow Wow " period otherwise known as the Marco Pirroni era. "Marco, Merrick, Terry Lee, Gary Tibbs and yours truly" was the shit. The previois stuff was too...emo whiney high pitched stuff. I was absolutely fucking mesmorized by the fat double drum sound and the cool costumes of Kings of the wild frontier album.

But with all things, it all comes to an end. After 1985, it all went to shit and it was moe "seriously Leslie...time to hang up the makeup and tight leather pants and fopr gods sake put down the gun and take your meds!"

Man I miss the '80s. There was time for that crap later.
